Beer Tasting: Great Divide Oak-Aged Yeti Imperial Stout

This oak-aged Yeti is an imperial stout from Great Divide Brewing Company of Denver, Colorado. This 25 ounce bottle was purchased from 3 Sons Dogs & Suds in Wexford, Pennsylvania. As you'll see from the review below, this was one of our favorite beers of this past winter season. Have you tasted this beer? Let us know what you think. As a suggestion, try to keep the review as brief as possible for each of the following: appearance; smell; taste; mouthfeel; and drinkability. Appearance Adam: Not even translucent, ring of tan, nice lace on glass Bryan: dark, thick pour with tan head; quickly dissipates to a tan ring that sticks around Smell Adam: hints at a sweet hoppy molasses surprise :-) Bryan: a beautiful (can I use that word?!) rich aroma Taste Adam: sweet malty roasted hoppy tang with hoppy finish that persists Bryan: packs a complex taste; sweet up front, quickly to bitterness in the finish back of mouth Mouthfeel Adam: carbonated well, thick and juicy Bryan: big beer throughout, thick but not cloying, just the right amount of carbonation Drinkability Adam: surprisingly so even as big as this is Bryan: not fast, but extremely tasty and drinkable Seconds? Adam: until I can drink no more :-) (or if Bryan doesn't catch me drinking his) Bryan: slow and steady wins the race; keep 'em comin'
